About Susan Hasho
Susan Hasho is a developmental editor which is an editor involved in the mysterious process of enabling writers and anyone interested in writing to find their way though the maze of expectations, judgement and even fear to find the true heart of what they want to write. She has trained and worked as an actor and writer and moved into the advertising field to work as a copy editor for advertising agencies and Fortune 500 companies. She began working with writers several years ago as an editor and it became her goal to teach a writing class that would enable people to be as free of self-criticism and inhibiting expectations as possible in order to write clearly and openly with joy.

I am a developmental editor which is an editor involved in the important process of enabling writers and anyone interested in writing to find their way through the maze of expectations, judgement and fear to locate the true heart of what they want to write. I have trained and worked as an actor and writer and moved into the advertising field to work as a copy editor for advertising agencies and Fortune 500 companies. I began working with writers several years ago as a developmental editor, and I discovered the need for a writing/memoir class that would create an atmosphere of freedom and trust. I am now teaching as well as editing. And leading classes that enable writers to write with surprising spontaneity, clarity, and joy.

Does your business copy need a fresh voice? Professionally I look at business copy with an eye for grammar, but always from the viewpoint of the customer. As a copy editor, I want to know: do I understand what this product is, what this sentence means? Is it clear to me how I’m going to benefit? The radical question is always: Does this make sense?
Do you have a story to tell? Is there a memoir calling out to be told? Does your almost-finished book need fresh eyes and a compassionate, analytical editor? Are you entangled with and thrown off by the persistent inner critic that shadows all writers? I am a developmental editor—a wordsmith who supports writers in finding their way through judgment and fear to uncover the heart of their story. I work hand-in-hand with authors and students to help them find clarity, inspiration, and spontaneity. I provide a safe space that fosters magic in their writing.
Are you looking for a writing class? I offer memoir writing classes that provide an atmosphere of safety and trust. It’s always amazing how much remarkable writing comes to life where there is less expectation—and only a creative process.
